Meditation Benefits

Meditate Where You Can Have Peace.

How many times have we been stressed, and a friend, family member, or doctor told us to meditate.  If you are like me, you were told to meditate, but never how to meditate.  When I searched online how to meditate, I got basic steps on how to sit, breathe, and keep your eyes closed.  Following those basic steps did not work for me.  I have since found out meditation has been around for thousands of years and has been used by many different cultures.  There are more benefits to meditation other than to reduce stress and there is more ways to meditate than sitting, closing your eyes breathing. 


Meditation can be a lot more than sitting, closing your eyes, and breathing.  There are more than 15 different types of meditation.  Some of the most common types of meditation are breathing meditation, movement meditation, guided meditation, and chanting meditation.  Below is a list of the above mentioned types and a brief description of them.


Types of Meditation


·        Breathing Meditation – Focusing on your breath is used to enter a meditative state.

·        Movement Meditation – Movement is used to help enter a meditative state.

·        Guided Meditation – A teacher will lead you through your meditation practice.

·        Chanting Meditation – Repetition of mantras or words are used to enter a meditative state.
