BREATH

What is our breath?
Is it something we only think about when we feel like it? We automatically use it as we need it for our activities…or is it something much more?
Perhaps the breath is like the second mind which by following it will guide our intention, point of reference, becoming one with that and excluding all else with our practice.
Pranayama becomes the deliverer of all messages to our entire being, the systems of our physical body and beyond. Pranayama, and its various forms including Ujjayi breathing enhance and cultivate concentration, eliminating distraction.
Pratyahara, the withdrawal of senses, and can actually move us through our asanas, our practice, and our meditation. When we wake up and take our first breath, that is when our gratitude and realization of the immensity of our being can begin.
